Moravian Slovakia

Moravian Slovakia is the easternmost part of the South Moravia Region (it lies on the borders with Slovakia and Austria). Slovakia is a fertile landscape of vineyards, fields of sunflowers and apricot orchards. This region is famous for its folk culture, unparalled in other regions of the country.

This concerns not only the Museum of Folk Culture, an open-air museum, and the International Folklore Festival in Strážnice, but also numerous other ethnographical museums and performances of folklore ensembles. However, Moravian Slovakia offers its visitors many more interesting attractions, such as the Great Moravian settlement in Mikulčice, The Baroque Milotice Chateau, the renowned orchid meadows of the White Carpathians range, and excellent local wine. There is also the restored Baťa –Canal for tourists boats.
